le brí - meaning 'with meaning' in Irish/ as Gaeilge
MALL le brí release an issue four times a year - Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. These are an amalgamation of stories, reviews, finds, photographs, and art. We are a slow production, as it's a one person project based on evergreen content and sustained energy of journalism as oppose to short lived trends, stories, and flashy new things every week, day, hour! This is not only to feed the reader in a better way, but more so for me, the creator, who can easily become consumed in the 'boom and bust' cycle of creativity and productivity.
We focus on long lasting art(icles), not just a mindless bundle of new buzz words, new trends, fast or time sensitive opportunities. MALL le brí wishes to offer long term value; journalism that can offer something season in, season out.
Much of the online world's content gets devoured and lost, and it's easy to feel as if we are just feeding into a big, noisy machine to no avail. But there would be no machine without our input. So as much as it can feel meaningless, it cannot exist without our contributions; much like the regular outside world itself. If you create *solely* for others you will always feel eaten by the machine.
Create what you enjoy, and take joy in watching others enjoy it with you- but don't be disheartened if no one else does.
